Our Scouts recently teamed up with 15th Freshford Scouts for their joint third annual endurance hike last weekend. This saw the combined troops face a challenging hike through muddy woods and along flooded fields and roads.
The course is a loop set between Iford and Freshford, the aim being to complete the most loops in the time allowed. Checkpoint volunteers included Leaders and parents from both groups – many of whom brought home made cakes to help encourage the Scouts along!
Bath Youth Commissioner Dan commented; “The Scouts enjoyed the damp conditions and later the rain, with four patrols all completing at least 6 or 7 laps over the seven hours. The Scouts utilised skills learnt at their weekly meetings including navigation, radio use and leaderships skills”.
Thanks as always to Alex and Marriane for use of the Iford Manor carpark. This is just one of many exciting activities Scouts across Bath take part in. For more information on how both adults and young people can get involved, get in touch!
