Four Seasons Jamboree

Over the May Bank Holiday, 25 Scouts and their Leaders from Bathampton joined 4000 other Scouts and Guides from across the Avon County for an action packed weekend of activities and fun at the Avon Jamboree which is held every four years at the Woodhouse Park, the County Camp site in Almondsbury.

The top activities were the muddy adventure course, the zorbing, shooting, archery, climbing and sub aqua! The Saturday evening was the highlight of the entertainment with a carnival complete with floats, fireworks, a silent disco and live bands.

Sunday evening saw our own Avon’s Got Talent which was very entertaining, even more so was the judging, as Simon our Scout Leader and Deputy Camp Chief for the Jamboree was booed off stage after donning a Simon Cowell mask as he commented on the various acts!

Despite the inclement weather the Troop really enjoyed themselves with so much going on and lots to see and do over the weekend but our adventure had only just begun, as we went on to our Troop Camp straight from the Jamboree…
